We would love to have you join us through a donation.
We believe in absolute transparency so before you donate we want you to know exactly what your donation will be used for. With every turtle purchased through the Super Max & Bryce initiative you not only give the gift of a turtle, you also give $1 to support research on children’s cancer and $1 to help children with cancer and their families to thrive.
Our hope is that one day we will no longer deliver any turtle night lights to children because there will be no more cancer. To help make that a reality, we strongly believe in the importance of helping to fund children’s cancer research, hence our $1 per turtle donation to that cause. The other donation, to help children and their families thrive in the face of cancer, is paid directly from Cloud b to the MaxLove project (anytime anyone in the world purchases a Super Max the Turtle, the Cloud b team donates $1 to MaxLove, yet another reason we love Cloud b).
In terms of other costs, Bryce’s mom and stepdad, Amy and George, have committed to funding the family’s annual trip around Australia to visit children in the hospitals out of their own personal funds. Additional costs, like the cost of shipping the turtles from our home to the hospitals (Cloud b generously helps us with the cost of shipping the turtles to us) and items like t-shirts, wrapping paper and stickers are funded out of St Andrews bake sale monies and community raffles (thank you Gold Coast community!).
This ensures that every dollar you give will go directly toward the purchase of Super Max the Turtle night lights, the star-inspired scarves for mums and socks for dads and children’s cancer research and thrivership programs.
To personalise the turtle gifts for the children in treatment and their families, with every donation we invite you to write a short note that we will put onto a card that is given to a child with the Super Max the Turtle(s) you help us to purchase. We love the idea that every turtle is given with a note of support from the person/family who made that gift possible. As we learned from two year old Katerina in Greece, there is an inherent beauty and magic in receiving a gift from someone you have never met, especially when that person lives on the other side of the country or planet.
Below, you’ll see pictures of some of the beautiful notes that were written on the cards for this year’s journey around Australia along with pictures of some of the strong, brave superheroes who have received Super Max the Turtles thanks to donations like yours.
Please know that if you choose to donate, your donation will be made through a nationally registered charity and is therefore tax deductible (we have partners helping us with this in both Australia and the USA). If you are interested in donating, please email Bryce’s mom, Amy, directly using the details on our “contact” page and she will send you further information.
Finally, to everyone who is reading this, please see the short one minute “Thank you” video Bryce made below. We know we will reach our goal to give a Super Max the Turtle to every child diagnosed with cancer in Australia and New Zealand every year thanks to you.
